Posted By: jay behrens
That's a hoot. They are being sold as "unauthentcated(not real)" with a $99.99 opening bid. Judging by the description, I'd say these con artists are aware of eBay's new rules regarding the sale of fakes.

Jay

Posted By: Hankron
Elliot, I sent the seller a email expressing my displeasure. As eBay now has a rule saying sellers can't disclaim knowledge of or responsibility for the auathenticity, it is my hope that eBay will will nip this auction in the bud.
The seller says, "They could have come from K-Marts yesterday, but I don;t think so" .... The guy is offering a Babe Ruth (1895-1948)autographed photo, yet says it's possible it came from K-Mart yesterday? I'm sorry, but I would require a bit better provenance and assurance than that before I bid.

Posted By: Hankron
I'm cofindent I'm not going out on a limb when I say, for the above mentioned auction lot, the provenance is: the seller's home computer printer within the last month. I'm also certain (am being totally serious) that he included the 'K-Mart' remark as a technicality, so that, as an out, he can say, "I didn't lie. I printed them in my basement. The nearest K-Mart is half a mile away."
