Posted By: TBob
I have already bid on the set of 8 E94 overprints in Lispet's auction, but I feel the final price will be rather pricey so if anyone is interested in 1, 2, 3 or more of the cards, please email me and maybe we can get together on a group bid. Ditto the lot of 3 T207s which includes Lowdermilk, Ward Miller and Lewis. If I have to buy the whole lot to get Miller, I will, but if someone needs the Lowdermilk and/or Lewis, please email me and maybe we can work something out. Thanks
Bob (trophybob@aol.com)

Posted By: Bob
If you want to make a $15,000 ceiling bid on the lot, good luck, but I question the authenticity of your two uncatalogued E94 overprint backs. If you'll post scans of the backs, I'll concede you own two of the rarest cards in the hobby but it is strange no one who collects the backs has ever heard of these backs. Hmmmmmmm.....

Posted By: warshawlaw
Don't broadcast what your max will be: (1) if someone is willing to pay more, you've just killed your bid, (2) that's info that others might use to run up the bid and punish you for being insolent, as Dr. Evil might say.

Posted By: leon
Good points.
1. Not sure if he is who he says. Might be but will need to show the cards he has for verification. Just like anyone would.
2. He said he would spend 15k but that would be way more than market.
3. I don't think he is the consigner.
4. 15k does sound way high but you never know.

best regards

Posted By: leon
Well....the lot is over my head already....for what they are worth (in my opinion and that is ONLY my opinion) ......good luck on whomever gets them....I am thinking of going for some other things....might be time to start collecting Kalamazoo Bats Cabinets....lot #2 is looking tempting.....might go for a lot more than the overprints but the market is up on them....and with a nice tax check coming from Uncle Sam I might be able to do it.......regards all

Posted By: Jay Miller
Leon--Better start saving up; Mastro has the Boston K-Bat cabinet in his April auction. With just a little jingle you can have half the set by May Day.

Posted By: Elliot
Given that the Pittsburg cabinet in the Lipset auction is uncatalogued, do people think that it is highly probable that the other two small Kalamazoo Bats team cards would also be available in Cabinet size. Does anybody know if they exist?

Posted By: Jay Miller
If the Pittsburg team cabinet is not listed in the catalog then that is a mistake. I believe that Lew has had this cabinet for over ten years. In fact, isn't it pictured in the Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards Vol. 1? The Detroit and the Baltimore team cabinets are not currently known although Leon may be sitting on them.

Posted By: TBob
Next bid is $8800.00, I'm outta there. I guess overprinted caramel cards are the flavor of the month. Makes the vgex E94 Cicotte overprint I paid ruefully $400 for two years ago seem like the Brink's job now.
