Posted By: MIKE PLEMMONS

Hi Everyone-

I was lucky enough to pull an EX-MT John McGraw Portrait T206 in a topps pack a few weeks ago. Of course, I busted it out of the little topps holder and sent it straight to SGC hoping to get a 70. I just checked the status of the card on SGC's website, and believe it or not- they stated that the card showed evidence of trimming on the bottom border. Is there anything that I can do about this?
Since I took it out of the sealed topps holder, I dont think I can complain to Topps about it because I can no longer prove that it was their card that I sent to SGC.
I appreciate any help with this situation. Thanks.

Considering that they the got the cards from dealers, and having seen then general consition of the cards, it's highly unlikely a dealer gave Topps and high grade cards unless they knew they had problems.

If they card is really a problem for you, i'll be happy to reimburse you for the cost of the Topps206 pack

Jay

Posted By: Anonymous
I just won a buyback on ebay with the desire to break it out and send it in to be graded. Maybe I'll look closely before breaking it out and see if I can find evidence of trimming first.

Would PSA/ SGC grade a buyback?

If I had known that this much trouble couldve been avoided by just leaving it in the topps holder, I definitely would have. I feel cheated by topps.

Posted By: Tom Boblitt
of them that I buy from the store up the street.....usually $15-$20 for VGEX to EX ones.....I did open a box and get a southern leaguer that I actually needed for my set! That was pretty cool. It was about EX or so which covered the $65.00 for the box. Unfortunately, I like to open new stuff sometime.....I've got complete sets of the small Polar Bears from first two series but lost some interest on the 3rd series......

GET READY.....Topps is coming out with Topps 205 this summer (July). Guess that's why Kit was buying so many T205's a while back......they actually look to be pretty nicely done......so the T205 collectors will have TONS to wade through now when searching for cards!
