Posted By: <b>Julian Fernandez</b><p>a small crease on the bottom left hand side, which does not interfere with the picture, keeps this card from being graded at least EX-MT. I really don't care as much about the grade, as I do that it's authentic. I'm stoked!

Personally, I prefer a neatly written vintage note when it relates nicely to the front image (ala 'I bought this postcard at the stadium today, when we went to see the game'). I also definitely find desirable a dated PO stamp and mailing stamp on a vinage postcard. I would guess that SCD and PSA would downgrade for this kind of 'damage' but am just assuming.

I got the photo from Walter Johnson's biography by Henry Thomas, added Sepia color,changed contrast, etc., then cropped the image and pasted over the other postcard image - I even modified two of the corners slightly. Though I didn't take the time to do it as well as could have been, this still illustrates the danger of buying on ebay from scans, not paying close attention to the "qualities" of the seller.<BR><BR>Also, I agree with you completely about grading postcards - I prefer the ones with "provenance" included on the back as well, but I can do without the USPS swervy black stamp lines on the front of some of them.
