Posted By: Todd (nolemmings)
I'm trying to compile a database of all pre-1948 baseball cards (actually, anything pre-1970 non-Topps and Bowman), and would appreciate any checklists you folks may have developed that are downloadable or can be e-mailed. I would prefer that the player names be listed last name first, so they can be sorted alphabetically. If interested, let me know. I already have many of the vintage sets, but as it takes me some time to input the info (hunt and peck method of typing) I'm trying not to re-invent the wheel. thanks. Todd.

Posted By: Elliot
Brett Domue has already put together this checklist. In my opinion he has done an absolutely amazing job. Here's the link:
http://members.aol.com/METSBWD/hofers.html

Posted By: Todd (nolemmings)
hate to be a stickler on that, but I can probably get a checklist of first name first cards from 1950 by downloading PSA's pop report. I need to be able to sort alphabetically, and if there's an easy way to convert to last name first, I'm all ears.
Elliott,
I frequent Brett's site, it is great, but it also lists only HOFers. I'm looking to compile a master checklist of all pre-1970 cards.
Thanks for the tips.
Todd

Posted By: Mike Crain
Beckett has 1950-2003 cards, but there is alot of cut and paste involved. I was planning on undertaking that over thecourse of the next year or so. (It
took 1 hour to just do 1950!). I'd be interrested to know what you have, and what you need. Maybe if we collaborate, we'll get done much faster.

I have 1950, and some Pre 1900 cards, as well as T_2XX series.

Maybe we can hook up and see what we have. The Beckett can be pasted into Excel, and I can split first and last name if needed.

ucraimx@(REMOVE THIS TEXT)hotmail.com

Posted By: Tom B
has pretty much everything in their checklist db.......I just searched for Kalamazoo Bats and other items and they're there. Pretty easy to cut and paste. I did the 1950 Bowman and hilighted the text then pasted into excel, cut the first couple of columns out and you have number in column A and first_last name in column B. 3 minutes.

Then in Excel, highlight the column with names in it, go to data, text to columns, select delimited, click on next, check 'space' box, click on 'next' button and hit 'finish' button. You'll then have the column with first and last name split into two columns.

Don't know about 'stealing' Beckett's checklists in that manner although most have been around so long that they're probably public domain........lawyers want to weigh in on that issue?
