KitYoung has an Ebay auction on currently for #35- Casey Stengel.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1582508483

The one KY is auctioning has (cheesy) coloring. I have a copy of the same image but it is sepia toned black and white and it is also supposed to be a 1930s issue (Chicle Fine Pen?). Does anyone know if the same image was recycled for 2 different issues?

Posted By: Tom
like the Stengel all have the cheesy coloring. Mostly pastels as they are listed sometimes as R312 Pastels. I have a good friend who collects them. They are VERY condition sensitive and tough to find anywhere north of VGEX to EX. Blank backed though. There are lots of 'R' issues in the 1930's that are pretty underpriced based on their scarcity compared with Goudey's/Playballs/Diamond Stars. You can get lots of them in the $10.00 range for nice commons and others. The R312's though are generally more expensive. From being at shows with him when he buys them, the commons are in the $25-$40 range with HOFers going $50-$100 and DiMaggio is all over the board in the $400-$2000 range depending on the condition. The Stengel looks to be about inline with what would be reasonable. Maybe a hair high. JMO (just my opinion)......
