Posted By: David
I'm an active buyer of press photos/news service photos/wire photos/Hollywood Studio Promos and related material (anyone have an old wirephoto machine sitting around?), including originals by famous photographers like Conlon, Paul Thompson, George Bain, etc. This covers all areas, baseball and nonsport, American and Foreign, 1900 to 1990. I prefer to buy collections and archives, so if anyone hears of a local newspaper archives sale or whatever, feel free to contact me. I am also an active buyer in most areas/types of 20th century baseball photographs.

Posted By: David
Just to note, I will be putting up on eBay some more unique autographed baseball letters and documents, mostly Pre-War. This will include some early Yankee and Federal League agreements and letters, and the player signed portion of a c. 1910s Sporting News contract. I will be putting up about two a day (no one ever accused me of being a workaholic). Thanks

Posted By: runscott
...most slated to end next Sunday evening. 10-days now in progress, starting some 7-days tonight. This includes almost everything except my t206 HOF portraits, Reulbach and Rucker stuff, Wagner collection and error/printer scrap cards, and balls/bats/gloves/hats. <== I mention these items because many of you have told me you think that everything I own is up for sale at a price, but it's not true - I sell so that I can afford to buy, and I have bought many cards just so I could examine them closely before re-selling. Might sound odd to the purist collectors out there, but it has allowed a teacher with two kids in private school to afford to participate in an expensive hobby and own some of the finer cards around (at least temporarily!). BTW, I am the anti-Koos in more ways than one (Hey Koos - not meant to be an insult!) - I drive a base model pick-up and live in a 1-bedroom apartment with a hound-dog. I date the girl next door, who also has a hound-dog. What a helluva life! ...and I have a beer belly and haven't pumped iron in ten years.

Most cards starting at $9.99, most publications starting at 99 cents. I really intend to sell this stuff, taking a loss if need be.

I'm sick and tired of debt and would like to pay cash for Christmas presents, just once!

--------------------------------------------
withdrawing my board exit until Elliot gets back and we see what his thoughts are. BTW, editing posts isn't an acceptable solution (in my opinion)

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy
I get the impression from many of the posts that many of us have hit the "collecting wall" ...finding a few items here and there, but rarely finding a "must have" item. It seems as if EBAY has been a bit lean lately. Actually, there was one week then I saw several items on my "hot" list, however, they quickly sold for prices beyond reason.

Well, I have decided to re-focus my attention on purchasing "high-grade" S-74 Colored Silks. If anyone has any of the following catchers with minimal fraying, I would be interested in purchasing the following players: Roger Bresnahan, George Gibson, Johnny Kling, Chief Meyers, and Gabby Street.

In addition, I am also interested in Ex or better condition postcards of these players, and of Ira Thomas.

Thanks, Patrick.

Posted By: Brian Hodes
I admit I am probably over-using this thread and I apologize. However I do think that it is at least preferable to the arguments and ad hominem attacks that seem to be spreading over this board like the ubiquitous wormeklez virus. Also, I think it is at least worth keeping on the first page.

I am (or will be) selling/auctionming some of my 1887 N28 baseball cards on ebay. They are all in collectors condition in that the fronts are all very nice and crease free with some corner wear. The backs, however, generally have paper loss or writing (someone as many as 115 years ago decided to use the list of subjects on the back as a checklist).
The cards available (so far) are:
Ward
Kelly
Commiskey
Mulvey
Let me know if you are interested etc.
I also may be selling off many T206s (mostly non-hofers and commons) in EX conditon (ungraded as I obtained most of them before to the advent of the grading services. Please forward a list etc. if you have any you need.
Sorry for being so commerical and I hope everyone is having a nice long weekend.
Best,
Brian H.
