Posted By: warshawlaw
Real story: around 1974 a friend of mine and I were hot on the trails of vintage cards wherever they could be found (this was the time when there was literally no appreciation for collecting and cards were practically given away by antique dealers). His mom bought an old roll-top desk in an antique store in New England. When they got it home and opened the desk, out fell two cards: a 1948 Bowman Berra and a 1950 Callahan Hubbell. Not exactly a T206 Wagner, but a nice find nevertheless.

Ahh, the old days . . . worth less but fun.

Posted By: Brian Weisner
I remember finding a small group of 1957 topps cards in a sport coat, which included Ted Williams, Yogi Berra and Rocky Colavito. My mom had purchased the coat in our neighbors yard sale, I can only guess that my neighbors father had taken his trusty cards to church so he could memorize there stats during the service. I still have all 8 cards in ex/ex+ condition. In 1975, I had no idea they even made cards in 1957, so this find began my card collecting obsession.
nice thread brian
