Posted By: Brueso
And the E-bay seller (with his feedback of 8- previously selling $10 football cards) said he got it from his grandfather before he passed away. As someone else noted, isn't it interesting how the one card that Grandpa passes on before he passes on himself, or that is discovered in that desk grandma had in her basement is ALWAYS either a Wagner T206, or a Magie, or a Plank?

The Ebay auction number is 1854588518, and the 2 people that have put in repeated bids so far either have no feedback or a feedback number of 8.

Posted By: Dan Mathewson
...the seller and one of the bidders (alec_green) have the same number of feedback (8)... makes you wonder if there is a little shill-ness going on, or maybe they are the same person...?

...take it one step further and look at the last thing that alec_green bought at auction just a few weeks ago:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1849413831

This exact Wagner card (reprint). Gee, there's a shocker. This is a candidate for PRO Grading.

Posted By: Goudey Guy
This one isn't too difficult to figure out. If you take a look at the sellers feedback, you will notice that this guy has purchased many times from the ebay seller "franks13", who notably sells better quality older reprints of vintage cards. I purchased some myself a long time ago from him, just to educate myself on the difference. I have since given them away to new collectors so that they too could learn the difference. There's no doubt in my mind that this guy bought the Wagner repro from him, waited until viewers were unable to view this old auction, and then came up with the story that his dear old grandfather gave it to him before buying the farm.
Just as a side note, I have nothing against the ebay seller "franks13". He sells his reprints legitimately, it's just the occassional moron that thinks he can fool everyone else by trying to resell it as an authentic card. This is why all cards produced after 1950 should not be tolerated on the pre-1950 ebay board (i.e. PRE-1950!!!)
