Posted By: Julie Vognar
Saturday, in St. Leander's church, just east of the San Leandro BART station south of Oakland. He usually just has one on Thanksgiving weekend, but he's working an extra one in this year.

If I ignored all my debts, i could go to the National. Mark says Dennis Purdy's Seatac show has better old
stuff--that's Nov 1-3. By then, if I'm still alive, i should have a bunch of dough. With what I'm getting this month, I'm going to pay off 4 credit cards, finish paying Terry Knouse for the S.F/ Hess Ewing, pay back Bob for getting me a new roof, bolting my room onto foundation, new sheet rock, new paint, and three sides of new windows, lay 1K on my daughter--and pay Bob back for the K he's lending me for mark's show tomorrow.

Even if I didn't owe all that money, although I would love to meet you guys, I'm not quite sure the feeling is mutual. Sometimes I feel liker you think I'm a bomb that might explode.

Posted By: Elliot
Julie, I'm sorry that you feel that way. We ALL like you, even if we don't understand you all the time. We'd love to meet you at the National, if you can make it.
It just seems that we like to "attack" each other at times, but it's all in the "family", and you shouldn't take it personally.

take care
Elliot

Posted By: Julie Vognar
People having to aplogize before they use the word "pink." Jeez!

Originally, I was going to Mark's show just to show him my S.F. Hess Ewing--and then I heard about approaching money. It's probably pretty hard to picture the card the way i described it (it actually looks pretty nice). I'll let you know what Mark thinks.

About the National vs. the Tacoma-Seattle show: my mother was born in Selma, Alabama, and never quite got clear on the concept of UNBEARABLE HEAT. That's Chicago in the summertime.

Anyway, have a great National (where I'm sure it will be air conditioned).

Posted By: Jeff Obermeyer
Julie, if you end up coming up to Purdy's show, let us know... I'll take you to lunch, and I'm sure Dan Mathewson and David Rudd can be convinced to join us.

I won't lie to you though... the Tacoma show generally doesn't have a whole lot of vintage (pre-war). I don't think I've spent more than $50 at either of the last two...

Jeff
http://www.seattlehockey.net
I need more Seattle hockey memorabilia!
He is very selective about who lets set up and limits the number of dealers selling new material (meaning post WW2). It was always one of my facortire shows to set up at along with being able to see what great items Macrae, Dobbins, Spaudling and others were offering.

Jay
