Could this be an early mustache photo of Cap Anson?

Who could I submit this to for additional research and potential authentication?

A recent find at an Antique store w/in 3 hours of Chicago.

I've attached additional images to support potential evidence.

(Top Image is my find - Chicago photographer) Has the younger face features, but the transition of later more familiar images. I know he was in Chicago for many years.

Sorry, but it's a no from me. I don't see much resemblance at all. We see this commonly on the forum and it is impossible to prove unless they are in uniform or it's a known cabinet/cdv with great provenance I.e from a teammates descendent or an acquaintance.

I don't know of any reputable company that will identify on a hunch.

It is a distinct possibility the OP is the same person as the seller on Ebay who has a lot of these type of cabinets for sale. Perhaps if we can compare photos of both of these individuals we can determine if we have a match or not.

Sure does seem like that poster has changed their name doesn’t it?

It doesn't look even remotely like Anson to me.

When I was 10 years old, I also found a cabinet in an antique store that I thought was Cap Anson. I soon learned that everybody in the late Victorian Era looked like Cap Anson.

The drivers side ear in the photos look nothing like each other, my guess would be no.

Clearly a troll. Not even remotely close...but it does look a lot like Joe Jackson. :D

I have a recommendation: contact a seller named "jollyrodgersrelics" on ebay, I'm sure he'll agree with you that this is Anson. After that, just consign it with him. He's got a great early Ruth picture for sale right now. This Anson would go splendidly with that Ruth photo.

Edited to add - Darren, please don't encourage the OP... :) Joe Jackson, indeed. Everyone will tell you it's closer to 3 Finger Brown.

The OP asked me to change his ID earlier today or yesterday. The only question is, should be we keep playing or just 86 him?

Don't let the fact that this is a 1906 postcard and "Jim" Thorpe was with the Canton team starting in 1915 hold any us back...with AI (Artificial Imagination) the world can be your Oyster Joe Martina Bar and Grill.

Brian (In this photo Oyster is saying 'Awww Shucks', which of course became the advertising slogan for the 11 restaurant chain in the Midwest that was used for many years)

Myself, don't really think photos of players in street clothes are even collectible. (Yes even w600s) Guess I will when I am the seller or ahem "finder" of one.

Soon we will see sonogram of players selling for big bucks. SmH

Imagine what the odds are of picking up a random photo of someone from 150 years ago and thinking " hold on a second. . . . that's not a random butcher or police officer or carriage driver . . . that looks like one of the 3 or 4 most famous guys living in the country at the time . . . holy crap . . . what are the chances. . . ."

Like 150 years from now someone buys a random polaroid photo and it remarkably just happens to be a young George Bush or Barack Obama!!!
