I have two cards from what could be an unknown Cleveland Indians team issue from around 1959 to 1962 or so. I acquired the Tito Francona card several years ago, and found the Jim Perry card just last week. The cards are similar in that they both measure 2-1/2" x 3-1/2", both are autographed, and blank blacked. At first glance the fonts also look very similar, but the "Rs" in "Perry" and "Francona" appear to be different. They may also be on different photo paper stock, but really not sure. The only other clue I have is that the Jim Perry pose is identical to a Cleveland Indians Postcard issue of the same period.
It's been suggested to me that these may come from one of the many player signing events that took place at Higbees, Taylors, and other department stores and businesses in greater Cleveland in this era.
Any ideas what these are? Does anyone else have these, or other players to add to this "set?"
