Doing an auction first time (Heritage). Do you guys usually place a reserve on your items?

Best of luck. I am pretty anti reserve unless it is a super rare item.

Only thing worse is listing auctions with starting prices higher than BINs. Then relisting it over and over and over and over while bumping it every day or a couple times a day. Just list it for sale or if using a auction platform start it at under a BIN price. End of rant.:D

Hi

Many auction houses do not do Reserves.

Heritage does.

Using a Reserve is a matter of the Seller. Many do it out of fear or concern they will take a loss or that the card will potentially sell for less then they want to get for it.

Most people do not use reserves. But depending on the value of your card or the money you "need" from it then you might want to use it.

The benefit at least of using the "reserve" at HA they at least show the reserve several days before the auction ends so if people want to buy it at that price they can bid at it. Many auction houses have reserves but buyers/bidders do not know what it was even when the auction ends.

It is also hard to tell without knowing the specifics of what you have or want.

Perhaps if you know or have comfort with someone here at the forum you can PM them and you can discuss the specifics.

Good Luck either way
