I always liked this pose, but puzzled by the one hand holding the bat. Looking closely, could what appears to be his left thumb actually be the bat knob that the artist drew originally but then didn’t line-up with the bat and was just left?

It's his thumb, here's a Duffy that Luke has on the bst that has a caption
jump and image shift and the image shift shows it's clearly his left thumb.

You gotta love the ghost hands coming out of Hugh's chest. And the masquerade mask that has been removed to reveal Hugh's face is just out of this world. Great card Luke, and thanks for sharing Pat.

It looks like a pocket on the sweater to me. The color should match the rest of the trim on the sweater if that's the case. There is a shadow from the hand too which helps to make that area extra messy. I think they may have goofed it up with the color. I think the button up around the neck was a mistake as well. They changed the color of the hat too which it isn't uncommon for a card to vary from the photo slightly.
