If you are going to the Philly show, what are your expectations in terms of cards prices? Sky High? Reasonable? A mix?

Especially curious considering the National is a month away.

keep pace with ebay or a little more. Also more raw than graded with the backlogs. Similar to card shops during these times.

I think there will be a lot of S kickers...let me think about it type responses from attendees to deals.

I don't see money being spend as crazy as it was in January-March.....Might Be Different This Time Since First Big Major Show in the Area Since pre Covid times.

All that being said I have no idea what to expect. Either way have fun.

I will have in part:

Some great freshly graded PSA and SGC vintage cards T206-1960's
Commons, stars and minor stars raw from set breaks from 1952-1955 Topps and 1952-1955 Bowman - come fill your sets - mostly mid grade EX and better
Oddball and test issues including Topps 3D's, Bazooka complete boxes, etc
A 1961 Topps completely autographed set break (stars with Becket quick opinions)
An incredible original owner, fresh to market 1961-62 Fleer basketball set break
A bunch of great raw low grade to high grade original owner stars and minor stars mostly from the 50's and 60's
A large selection of Topps Venezuelan cards
Set (-1) of 1971-72 Topps Hockey - super nice shape
1971 Topps Football near set - super nice EX-EXMT mid grade

Let me know if you see anything specific in my Flickr albums that you would like me to bring:

In response to OP - Cards readily available, I price in line with current market prices (I use Ebay sold listings, VCP and PSA auction history as a guide). I ask a premium for cards that are either clearly undergraded or super eye appeal for the grade. I would expect to see a range of pricing - some guys stuck in the market a couple of months back and others like myself - there to sell cards! That said - I don't give away the good stuff!

I'll also be buying and trading - Cobb, Ruth, Mantle, Clemente, Mays, Test issues, Venezuelans, Bazookas, Stahl Meyers - graded and raw, stars and sets

AT THE VERY LEAST - STOP BY AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF FROM NET 54!

I think you'll see a lot of spectacular cards displayed in cases and being flashed by attendees. People have been buying and hoarding; non-collectors gotta sell sometime. What I don't know is how many will change hands. Vintage prices have backed off a tad market wide, but there are plenty of exceptions. The good stuff will hold steadier; the schlock will slip.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what's out there and maybe picking up a nice piece or three.

Looking forward to meeting Mr. Chasser!

I think you will see a lot of pent-up fat wallets opening for a new day.

I can only assume card show experiences have gotten worse since everyone starting ripping packs. Expect to pay an all new price you've never seen before for anything you're interested in.

The best part of the Philly show is talking to the great Scott (Collector connection auction) :D

You will see many, many more brand new cards than vintage and a lot of Pokemon. The shows have changed substantially.

I just hope people attending the show won't be as stingy with their deodorant as they are their money!!!

It's been very hot and humid in the Mid Atlantic Area all Week.

Serious question, especially for the dealers who will be set up there:

I just got an order back from CGC. With interest in graded comics on the rise, would it be worthwhile to bring a few? Here are some examples:

Spawn #1 CGC 9.8
Spawn #1 CGC 9.8
Spawn #1 CGC 9.6
Spawn #9 CGC 9.8
X-Men #4 CGC 9.8

I'm looking to ideally trade them into graded (PSA/SGC 3-4) T206 HOFers.

It is definitely getting there. Turnaround times are substantially longer than they were back in late February, which is when I sent my books in.

at the show. I am one - would have interest in taking a look at the X-men #4, but don't have much in terms of T206 to trade. I've seen comics at 2-3 other tables in the past.

I'll be there Friday and maybe a bit Saturday morning. I'm hoping I can find someone willing to trade. I'd like to score a card or two for my PC and have a bunch of PSA 8 RCs major/minor stars from the 50-70s, some Trout Heritage RC 9s, and some Caramel cards to work with.

Good luck to everyone at the show.

If you can't make deals with those stop by and talk about consigning!

Bring the comics - you just never know with high grade

Marvel stuff is doing very well!

Yes, it looks like I'll bring them. Just making sure it wasn't a ridiculous idea. Carrying 6-8 graded comics around all day for no reason would have been a bit of a pain, especially as I started acquiring sports cards. My go-to card show bag only holds so much. lol

I will be there Friday...not expecting any deals, but it will be great to look at cards in person as opposed to on my computer or from my personal collection. See you all there.

sb1 was correct. There were more modern card tables at this show compared to shows in the past.

On the flip side, at least it wasn’t overrun with Pokemon. :)
