I know this dealer has been around a long time, but has anyone had recent experiences buying raw cards?

I've bought a couple of large raw lots in the last couple of months from them and had no issues. They had very quick shipping from where they are in California to me in Virginia and good packing. I would recommend them from my experiences

I have been buying (ungraded and graded cards) from Kit Young and his guys since 1981.

They're the best in the hobby. They've helped me complete many of my sets (1888-1968).

Been around for a long time and a good guy. Maybe a little bit pricey but worth every penny as you won't have any problems. Solid seller and easy to work with. Spend your money with him and you'll be happy.

Agree.... solid.

They may tend to overgrade by just a tick, but that's pretty typical for sellers of raw cards. They are about as reliable and time-tested as it gets.

I bought plenty of cards from Kit Young quite a while ago and not as much recently, but I never had any issues with them with any of my purchases. Grading of cards was solid and you can always call and have them describe cards to you if you want a better description than what a scan on their website shows.

As others have said, very solid. Kit Young stands behind what he sells. A few years ago, I was completing my first '53 Topps set. I purchased a raw Jim Gilliam from him. A month or two went by, and I decided to send it to SGC for grading. It came back altered (black sharpie if I remember correctly). I contacted Kit Young just to let him know that he could have some other suspect 53s. I wasn't looking for a refund. It had been a while. To my surprise, I was contacted almost immediately and told that I could return the card for a full refund. Needless to say, I was blown away. They are tops in my book.

Excellent dealer. i bought a complete 1960 Topps football set from him a couple of years ago, at a very fair price. Great cards and great communication from them!

Kit used to host a dealers' get-to-together in Hawaii, which was always popular and a lot of fun but now gone in the mist of the "modern hobby".

John:

The dealer get-together has actually evolved into what is now called the "Hobby Summit" which is usually held in Vegas but is supposed to be in Hawaii every 5 years and has once been in Dallas.

Kit and his team are amazing.
A great friend of mine and hobby legend "Uncle" Dick DeCourcey got me in touch with Kit when I was writing my book "Buying Back Dad's Cards" (he also got me in touch with Dr. Beckett but thats another story :)

I was able to talk to Kit and tell him that my Dad bought a 1956 Mantle from his catalogue for $35 in 1986 for my 13th birthday. His reaction was priceless an I still have the card! This post caused me to go back and look and I actually found his catalogue from Fall 1992 right in the middle of the boom. Thanks for the memories!
