Relocated to . . . Atlantic City.

This will undoubtedly be received very well by 98% of the board. LOL.

Hell, by 2022 most of might be dead from the virus, or the hobby will have collapsed to the point where people will be burning 52 Mantle cards to stay warm.

While one part of me; and we've discussed this on the podcasts I've done with Dr. Beckett would like to be in Chicago as much as possible.

Another part of me has not been in New Jersey since 2006 and would love while still living to catch up with friends and family I have not seen since then and add a couple of days either before or after the show.'

Perhaps I am in the minority but I enjoyed the last Atlantic City show. Drove to the show. Shared a table with a few buddies. Sold a bunch and bought a bunch.

Also enjoyed the amenities after the show.

I look forward to any card show and think the Atlantic City show will be great!

AC is great for anyone driving, very difficult for anyone flying, as you have to drive or shuttle/limo about 1 hour(going to the center, even longer on Sunday leaving) from one of three different airports.

As to the show itself, I have always done well there, once I got there :)

I'm happy about 2022 being in AC, as it's not too far from me. Just have to avoid the casino so I don't lose my card budget playing blackjack!

It's nice to some folks not complaining about it being in AC for once. I'm personally excited to have it back in Jersey since it was cancelled this year and I was really looking forward to it.

It was in August 1981, and they were protesting the MLB players' strike.

David Cartier was the owner of Cartier's Fairball Card Co in New Britain, Connecticut.

West Coast? Atlanta? Columbus, OH?

How about a little more variety?

I also enjoy Atlantic City---Much easier where I can drive vs flying--I know for the guys that have to fly in, much tougher since most have to fly to Philly or Newark and then get to the show. But hopefully we will be there in 2 years and Toby,, I do have to find those Amenities after the show!

I don't like AC and probably won't go again. It depends if 2021 happens. If it does then I will most likely skip AC. If the 2021 doesn't happen and AC does in 22, then I will most likely go.

Picked this up at the National last year .. It boomeranged from my first collection.

Well they just saved me a ton of travel/hotel/entertainment/shopping expense. More money for upcoming REA, Hunts and LOTG, I suppose. Not all bad...

No way will I ever fight the ordeal of trekking to Atlantic City from the West Coast. I really think it's time for a competing National or a West Coast National. In the mean time, I hope Chicago happens in 2021, but am growing skeptical it will even take place.

I'm hoping that John Elway will appear at the 2022 National. I'd like to get my minor league rookie signed (every thread could use a card):

With the opening caused by Cleveland bowing out, I'm a little surprised the National didn't make another run at Baltimore. I know Baltimore proved impossible because the venue refused to reserve a spot years in advance - but with the pandemic, things might have changed.

I'll be going to AC anyway, but I think that if Baltimore could have been secured, we wouldn't hear anyone talking about not going.

I'm with you. I'm hoping they can figure out a way to bring it to the west coast. There has to be a venue on the west coast that can meet all of their criteria.

I enjoyed 2016, and look forward to it being in AC again. Would plan to get a room at the Borgata, and potentially take my son for his first show.

You can order the classic White House sub by mail on goldbelly.com. Pay a nice
Premium for pick up and delivery but have sent to a few folks across the country who really loved it.

While were on the subject of the National, assuming the 2021 show occurs, in Chicago, is there some sort of meet up for net54 members? Would be nice to meet many of you in real life, especially since It would be the first national I attend and I could use some much needed guidance!

Rich Klein
10-21-2020, 09:25 AM
Not to put words into Leon's mouth (Hi Leon!) but he usually does have a Net 54 dinner because Chicago is well set up for such events.

Of course we'll have to see where we are on a "health" issue by then but hopefully we can be in a somewhat normal place by then

Igor : Could be worse.

Been going since I was a kid to the White House. Best subs and Cheesesteak hoagies in the continental U.S - AC the best venue for the national IMO. Beach and Casinos If you want to make a vacation around your card trip..

+1 on White House subs. Though it might get to the point of being so crowded that no one goes there anymore. :D

Good things about AC. Closer drive than Cleveland or Chicago (though I enjoy both) and we can stay on the beach (which provides a lot of 'spousal support' for attending the show). ;)

Worst thing about AC. No Net54 dinner. :(
