In the latest installment of Real or Fake we have a #181 Ruth.

Backstory-
I bought this card as a kid from a neighborhood dealer sometime in the mid to late 80's so post Renata Galasso era, I've had it ever since. I am curious what the community thinks of this card. After all, the folks here have better eyes than any TPG.

I have my own opinion on whether this card is genuine or not, whats yours?

Edit FYI- the dealers name was John Ianniciello from California who broke the trust of and ripped off little kids.

I'd say save your money there is nothing right about that card.

It may just end up in the spokes of my bicycle where it should have been all along...
I always thought it was a Galasso knock off with a bad dye job.

Sorry, but that card is fake as fake can be. Save the grading fees.

Looks to be pretty clearly a doctored and altered Dover reprint

Good catch. I always thought it was a Galasso but it looks like a Dover. Did they print in the 80's?

Sorry for the situation. My guess is there are a lot more stories like this in the shadows.

Yea, it was disappointing finding out he was a man of low moral character.

I can't be too sad though, I still have the 1914 CJ Wagner, Plank, & Collins, along with a 52T Jackie, 52B Mantle, etc that he sold me for a few hundred each and all have been verified as genuine. I do regret staring at a Cracker Jack Shoeless Joe in his cabinet and not putting that one on layaway...

Ah well, Ive been blessed more times than not in this life so it all works out.
