Found my program from the 2006 NSCC in Anaheim. Was able to track down Leon at table 1343 and finally got to meet him. I miss the Anaheim Conventions, but that's another thread.

OMG - it's already been 14 years since the last west coast national. That was a fun one, I think... :p

I don't know, but I suspect the business would be good in Anaheim right now. But on a social and convenience level, Anaheim is as good as an area for the NSCC as Baltimore and Chicago are. Tons of hotels and eateries within walking distance of the Convention Center.

In addition, you are nearby the amusement parks for the family and a 15 minute car ride from the Anaheim ballpark.

There are other issues with the West Coast but that is not one of them.

Rich

I'm unable to confirm, but I do believe the Anaheim Nationals were two of the highest attended shows, with of course, 1991 blowing out all records.

Why did we become extinct?

1991 was a special case because it was a perfect storm with promo mania.

The others were all pretty decent.

In reality the biggest issue with Anaheim is they don't want to do with us as a unit at this point. When Mike Berkus was living he had regular meetings with Anaheim and never got any traction after 2006.

Anaheim would be awesome. Probably closer to my house than the airport. Vegas seems like a great spot too. Although perhaps not in August.
