This card went for $2277 in a Greg Morris auction just now (PSA 5 with an old label). This was a $600 card 3 years ago. It's been up to about $1500 but this is price is amazing.

Is there some renewed interest in Hank Greenberg? His Diamond Stars card also seems to have risen recently.

Maybe it was determined that he was an orthodox Jew :D

They had a Diamond Stars Bill Dickey blue back that went for a lot of money earlier tonight. I'll go back and look. I'm really bad at what cards sell for.

I realize it may appear as apples/oranges, but many cards are seeing unbelievable results right now.
A freaking '84 Donruss Mattingly sold for about $3500 bucks this weekend. It makes the Greenberg look like a flash sale, Lol.
I will say, the '34 Greenberg is an underrated card and, centered, in mid grade seems to be priced right around 2k. It is an exceedingly hard card to find. Most that have it are not giving it up with good reason.
The Diamond Stars card will bring a big premium in anything graded 4 & up dead centered as that whole set absolutely blows centering wise. The Greenberg, once plentiful in EXMT to NM grades has dried up almost completely.

Don't worry, more NM cards will be sure to surface. Just a matter of time (and razors, bleach, erasers, etc)

Love the DS Greenberg and the 34 Goudey. The goudey is very very tough centered, as was said, and has been undervalued. Both cards have been undervalued, frankly, sort of missed the boom (probably because I have several copies!). The DS shown below is the first vintage card I ever purchased (i paid $400 in 1988, my entry to collecting prewar).
