Excellent book. If you were a big baseball fan in the 80s you will love it. Fun, funny, very poignant at times.

Also a new book out about Jim Bouton that is great. Check out Pandemic Baseball Book Club.

I'm a member of "Baseball Books" on Facebook and this book has gotten a ton of positive reviews there. Also a few that were disappointed with it, saying too much of the book was about the author and not the players. Haven't read it myself.

Author discusses his relationship with his father and failed relationship with a few woman in the context of his baseball fandom. If these are the types of subjects that are a big turn off you in a baseball book probably won't like the book.

Is this book a couple years old, or did he adapt a portion for a periodical because I feel that I've read this story.

The book was released as a print edition about two months ago, and was just released as an audiobook in mid May.
