If you have an interest in early baseball in general, and the 1869-70 Cincinnati BBC in particular, then this book is for you. It is the most complete book about the team that I have seen and, at least to me, demonstrates why Peck and Snyder issued the team cards that they did.

Great book, it follows their earlier book on the team, The First Boys if Summer.
The earlier book is more 1869-70 specific and has an interesting approach, with tons of great facts. Unfortunately neither book has footnotes or an index as such.
I recommend both, although there is some overlap.

I trust the recommendation. I'll order a copy. Makes me wanna dig out my Harper's woodcuts to see the depiction of that team.
