Can someone remind me again what are the guidelines for posting items for sale in the Buy, Sell & Trade section? Perhaps they've changed. I try to combine everything in one thread per section, but many choose to start a couple threads, which seems reasonable to me. A few, meanwhile, endlessly start new threads and bump those threads constantly, sometimes more than once each day. Is anyone else annoyed by this? It seems like there's enough space on the front pages of each section for everybody to have a fair shot at selling their stuff, and be considerate to one another at the same time.

Haven't been buying much lately. Unless something has changed those same 2 people have been doing the daily bumping for years. Does the one still always add "god bless".LOL

Yeah, if your thing (let’s hypothetically say a large framed portrait of a hall of famer) hasn’t sold in two years after 9 price reductions and 37 taps, I’m thinking it’s not going to sell. Even if it’s the supposed last tap before it goes off to an auction house to no doubt sell for a much higher price. Which never actually happens for some inexplicable reason.

never knew that it takes more than 2 years to sell a card like a 53 topps Mantle. i guess the mick isn’t popular anymore or as scarce as a shark’s tooth.

I think the general rules are that you should combine items when practical or similar and that you are not supposed to bump your own post more than every three days unless replying to someone else's post.

I would also like it if people would quit bumping posts with another post to say "Sold!". That moves an unavailable item back to the top. Much better to edit the original post to mark it sold and then leave it buried wherever it was.

I think some get fixated on being at the top of the page, which is understandable. But when someone is bumping eight or 10 threads at a time in the same category, it's just plain selfish.

All anyone has to do is pm me and idiocy will be handled. There is an admin feature called "merge threads". Or if you don't like anything over there just pm me and if it is crazy it will be taken care of. Bumping a thread shouldn't be more than every 2-3 days. If that happens, PM me please and I will say something to the offender. Every issue ever asked about, to me or another moderator, has been dealt with one way or the other.

Feels good to bitch about something unimportant that isn't sickness or death related for a few minutes.

I agree. Very annoying. I know Leon is very good about dealing with these things but he really shouldn't have to if these sellers would just have some consideration.

Rob M

P.S. Looks like there is one seller that has 10 listings out of the top 19 listings currently in the memorabilia section.

Preach it my brother.

How about a rule that if an item has not sold after 20 bumps, it must come down and cannot be re-listed for 6 months?

As long as it's not bumped more than every 3 days or so, why?

I just find it annoying to see the same listing over and over and over, and you know it ain’t selling. Just my personal issue. I can easily ignore the listings, as I have been doing so far.
