Happy birthday to Al Rosen (the baseball player, not Mr. Mint.) Born February 29, 1924. If he were alive today he would be celebrating his 24th birthday! :)

February 29 is also the birthday of Pepper Martin.

He was an occasional visitor to one of the Houston card shops I frequented back in the 80s. I think he was an Astros exec at the time.

Happy Birthday and RIP. Big Rosen collector here. I am working on a signed run of his cards. I think I am about 1 or 2 short of a full Bowman-Topps run. The regionals are another matter entirely. And gotta love the oddball stuff

I saw a dude with an Al Rosen jersey at the Spring Training game yesterday between the Indians and D'Backs. I don't think I had ever seen one worn in public before. I certainly didn't know it was Rosen's b'day. Now I get it.

The single took a surprisingly long time to find.
