Vegas has placed odds on how many times Astros hitters get plunked.

Never mind, I obviously misheard.

If it's not over 83.5, I'm going to be upset. The Asterisks and commissioner have made a mockery of the sport with the handling of this entire situation. ZERO remorse from the players, and they're going to pay for it hopefully. Manfred has made matters worse by disrespecting the World Series trophy, and trying to protect the players by saying beanballs won't be tolerated.

Needless to say, I'll have my popcorn ready.

The Astros have brought this upon themselves. Unfortunately the bean balls will probably come with suspensions. It's going to be an interesting season.

MLB teams have always done whatever they could get away with to steal signs. The Astros just did it better than it's ever been done before. No, wait - the '51 Giants did it pretty well, didn't they?

There is a good reason why Manfred the Wonder Commissioner hasn't gone after the players: as soon as any individual player starts suffering, he'll spill the beans, and it won't just be Astros beans spilled. This will turn into a nightmare for baseball.

Anyone remember the shot heard round the world? No, it's been forgotten except by you guys collecting Thompson/Branca memorabilia.

"I feel like every single guy over there needs a beating."

Kinds of sums up some players' feelings

The funny thing is, the Astros were always the "good guys". Art Howe, Craig Reynolds, Jose Cruz, Bob Watson. Craig Biggio and the sunshine gang.

I can't remember a sports team more hated than the Astros are now. The 90's Yankees were the "evil empire", but it was a fun kind of venom, not real anger.

The 70's Steelers and today's Patriots maybe, but not near the level of hostility. Maybe it's just the media hype outlets touting the story. I guess we'll see as the season goes along...Rob

edit to add the "Golden State Warriors" "The Town"...Up 35 points...Klay Thompson for three! YES!!!

Has MLB decided what is up with the Beantown sox?

The AL could be alive with retribution.

The Yankees may need a 40 man pitching staff.

The Astros have no recourse against the rest of baseball or they would have used the recourse after they lost picks and personnel. The 1951 Giants didn't cheat to win a World Series either. In case anyone forgot, they lost.

After Severino out for season the Yankees probably will need a 40 man staff!

The Houston Organization should pay $1 Million to each of the other Major League teams and all of their spots on this years draft should be skipped.

This would be a large enough monetary penalty to send a clear message and would limit the Houston organization's ability to sign free agents, at least temporarily.

Comments?

I'm jumping into my DeLorean to pick up Bob Gibson from 1968. I say he's the opening day starter against Houston. :p
