I assume this is well known, but Harry Howell portrait is actually image of Jack Powell, right?

This is the photo (which is obviously what was used to create the card) from Baseball Reference website that came when searching Harry Howell. The face also looks a lot like the player's face as seen on the other Howell T206 card.

Looking into it a little more, it appears that the Howell and Powell cards are misidentified in the T204 set (The Powell photo identified as Howell, and the Howell as Powell)

Brian. The T204s are the source of the confusion, but agree they are wrong, not T206.

T204's probably with mixed up photos, and a photo of Jack Powell.

Since this thread touches on prewar St. Louis Browns errors, I’ll add that most T206 checklists don’t note that Graham (St . Louis) is actually Bill Grahame.

Interesting stuff. As we all know there were a ton of misidentified players in various pre war series. A long time ago I bought my E97 Cy Young, black and white, and didn't realize it was Irv. :)
