I think this 35 Goudey is in a 7 holder. I like how the background red blends with the red border...

Are you wanting to see raw or TPG opinions?

Be on the lookout for me to start a thread tomorrow titled "let's see some pre-war cards with red backgrounds. Lol.

Raw works as well as graded. NM -- GEM MINT.

Whether unaltered or not, I have always thought mint looking PreWW2 cards looked unnatural.

LOL, we get it Ethan, you bought a high grade Cobb. Weve seen these before from the Black Swamp find. No need to start extra threads to show it off.

Why not?

Back to the topic here is one though it might be traded in for others soon.......

I was joking about another thread tomorrow with the Cobb. I'm just a bit PSYCHED! Never had a high grade vintage piece, let alone one like the SGC 9.5 1910 Cobb.

...as a bonus , they add up to a ten......I suspect they used the same base picture , ...... I can't see a cigar company sharing anything with a cereal company though....

I like all the cards posted in this thread, even Brian's. The green Collins one would have been called "near mint" in the 80's. I don't have a lot of high grade cards, but like to add a nice type card when I find a good deal...

I am a little more lenient with my grading standards...

2660 hits in 1923 has to be some kind of record.

I thought you were going to mention that it has a Superman back. I guess it's technically a "broadcaster" card.

How about a Delong...

Not quite "Mint", but pretty nice. Sorry, didn't see you said HOFer. Well, he's in the Cardinal's HOF.

Pre-WWII
Perhaps Walter Johnson from my PIEDMONT set qualifies....however, if it's pre-Korean War, then Stan Musial from my 1949 BOWMAN set certainly qualifies......

362360The Joe D submitted myself... figured it would come back 7 or 7.5 all day. But noooooooooo. Who knows what PSA is thinking anymore. I sure as hell dont.

The 49-B Robinson missed by a hair. Thought Id include it anyway since were talking Korean War.

And if someone from BODA comes back and tells me the Ruths are trimmed, so help me...

Nice cards so far guys.......here's a few of mine. (Sorry, didn't notice the "HOF" stipulation until after posting scans of Eddie Miller and Babe Dahlgren).

I just realized that the OP said HOF. Oh well, Rabbit Warstler and Marty McManus are not in the HOF. Still, great cards, all. Here's a Rabbit who did make the Hall...I think the precedent is any pre-1950 card in nice condition...

Not NM+, but maybe I'll slip in a few Pre War HOF cards that present better than their given grades.
