This came in the mail today. I have been waiting a long time to add one of these to my Louisiana type card collection.

I hate to mention PSA in this post, but how can we expect them to catch trimmed cards when they can't even get the name of the set right?

Picked up in a trade in Chicago. Two tiny dots of paper loss on an otherwise pristine back account for the grade. I don’t collect E107s, but the image of Young on this card is incredible and, much as I tried, I could not stop staring at the card.

For me at least, the National is a social gathering where every once in a while you pick up a few cards. It was great to see all my hobby friends. Living on the West Coast now I don’t run into many as often as I used to, so that part of the National is really a treat.

The T213-2 Chicago Nat would have been Brown's 1916 card. He played for St, Louis Terriers in 1914 and Chicago Whales in 1915, but there is no 1915 T213-2 which shows him with a caption of "Chicago Feds" as far as I know.

This is a great site and I am glad everyone is active and shares their pictures of their collections and experience

While I wait for my cards I want I keep seeing others on this site that people just got and it gives me ideas for other cards I want.

Especially at auctions recently I see Boston Garter Cards, Old Mill among others I like

But for now the focus is on getting a 1916 or 1916 Ruth

Thanks

In my opinion, 53B is probably the overall prettiest set.

No question. Of course its drawbacks are no rookies and no Mays, Williams or Jackie.

That is the problem with all the 50s Bowman and Topps sets. 1952 Topps lacked the 2 best players in the game at the time, Williams and Musial. The only set to get all the stars was 1958, if you count the All Star card for Musial.

Anthony! Hey man. I still window shop and man Jay just parked a Bugatti in the front showroom floor! I had to comment as I have always loved the early California cards as I am a SoCal guy through and through as you know. I hope you are doing good.

Jay! All is good just trying to hit life's curve balls and as it turns out it's hard to hit a curve. I would love to hear the story about this group of cards. How many California league cards do you have now? What a set by the way. I hope you are doing good as well!

I haven't run across one of these. Interesting item. The engraving says "Doug Miller". I can't find a Doug Miller who was associated with the Braves.

Nice e91c and sharp T207, y'all.

Here's a few cards that came this week. Mostly lesser grade, htf combos and a sharp looking 1950 Bowman...

Great pick up on the Herzog - no B. That is the first one that I have seen come up for sale. I was hoping it would fly under the radar and I thought I had put it a decent bid, but it jumped up by an additional $350 in the last few seconds. That is a nice addition to your Type 2 set. Congrats!

Thanks, Rick. I agree T213-2 Herzog is difficult, but I saw 2 for sale recently. Mine is from a trade for a card that was originally on the bst. Sterling had another that I had an early low bid in. Hope you find one soon toward the set. Rob

Here are a few recent ones...

Picked these up a little while back but finally got around to scanning them. Of course my typical grade and condition but I love 'em anyway. Slowly chipping away at this set.

Sorry for the big scans, I don't know how to shrink them yet.

I just picked up these beauties, from the Japanese JGA 38 set issued in 1952.

These are the rarest cards I've ever owned, according to the 2018 Engel guide less than five examples of each card are known to exist.

No Hall of Famers in the bunch but I'm pretty happy to have them.

What separates that autograph from a 10? I agree with Ryan; it looks perfect.

Yes, I think they are more scarce than the VE. The T214 Oldring isn't listed in the Standard Catalog and I believe it may be the only one around, although you never know for sure.

Thanks, Rick

After hitting a dead end on my Murphy "master set," I was finally able to pick up a pretty scarce piece I couldn have only wished for. Was able to win this though Huggins this month. Could not be happier. A type example that many collection do not have. I couldn't have been any luckier to add one of the specific subject I collect.

Hi Ron,

I felt the same way when I was able to pick up my T215 Red Cross of Purtell with the Jersey City team. I never thought I would have the opportunity to get that card and I lucked into it one day. Congrats on adding this Derby to your collection.
