Anyone been to any of the Sports Card and Memorabilia shows at the Fairgrounds in Raleigh, NC.

I just moved down here from Maryland and wondering if anyone has info on what to expect, if any card grading services or auction houses attend? Seems like a big show but the event page has very little info.

I have been to many of the shows and generally speaking it is a huge bust. No major auction houses attend save Huggins and Scott. Mostly it is new stuff with a NASCAR, toys etc mixed in. I continue to go in hopes of something showing up :)

I live in the Raleigh area, and agree that it's pretty much a bust. Every once in a while there's a dealer with some nice vintage stuff, but mostly just modern. I still go from time to time, just because it's the only one in the area. I might go to the one at the end of this month just because I haven't been in a while.

Thanks for the info. I will probably check out the show in 2 weeks to see if I get lucky and find anything good, but I won't get my hopes up.

The July show is usually better because some national dealers will travel up to do the show on the way to the National.

I haven't been in a while. It's actually quite good for what it is. Wes Starkey runs a good show. A few autograph signers. Good quality raw as well as graded. Nice if you are a set builder.

I used to go pretty regularly 15-20 years ago, but not since. Back then I thought there was a decent amount of vintage. Pricing as with most shows is hit or miss and I always thought was a bit on the high side. As per usual, some dealers will work with you, some won’t. I doubt at least there that anything has changed.
