*****UPDATE******

After posting these pictures a year and a half ago I have done nothing with this ball and my friend needs the cash and he is asking about it. The posts in this thread have all said that this ball is likely authentic and not a souvenir ball but the value leans on the Mantle autograph of course. Can someone please confirm if the Mantle is authentic or clubhouse.

Thank you so much as it is very much appreciated

*****end of update******

A friend of mine was cleaning out his cousins home who hails from New Jersey and came across this Yankee ball among some of the cousin's belongings. I am confident that this is a souvenir ball but not being an autograph expert, I thought I would toss this out there to anyone who may offer an educated guess.

Assuming this is a souvenir ball, any guess as to actual value at this point? This appears to have a vintage Mantle signature and judging by the other players I will assume this is 1954/55 time frame but once again, I will leave it to the experts.

There is no real expectation that this ball is real but the way the ink has weathered had me rethink my initial reaction. I would love to hear what everyone else thinks.

That is not a stamped ball, it's actually signed (though the ink is bleeding of course)

I have owned several vintage signed baseballs but the way the ink had changed made me think it was not real but then again I thought it way be real. This one has me unsure of myself.

Thanks for the opinion ATP.

On stamped balls you will always notice that the signatures are all the exact same size, there is no overlapping of any letters, and often times some may be turned or spun sideways to fit onto panel to avoid any overlapping

Any thoughts on value? Obviously the quality of the signatures will take away from the value and the fact that this is not an official baseball will hurt it as well but I would assume the early Mantle signature will help it.

Just a quick bump to see if anyone had thoughts on value.

If the Mantle is good it’s probably $200-300.
If the Mantle is clubhouse probably $30-75.

I found this psa team one online. 1961. Mickey and Yogi on the sweet spot. I only did searching, I am not expert on Mickey autos. BTW, this one is listed $32,000 (pristine)

I have team signed - authentic and stamped. As mentioned, stamped one have autos at different angles to fit all in. Yours doesn't feel like a stamped ball. But, keep in mind that even stamped balls don't have exact name placement patterns either. They could change quite often, even game to games. Not sure why it's not an OMLB. I'll keep looking.

I forgot to include this picture from some research I did a year ago. The top two piece of photographs are the ball I posted and the bottom autograph is from a authenticated program I found for the mid-winter writers dinner in New York in 1956. They look pretty close.

First that's a modern ball signed by the players long after their careers, 2nd the asking price is stupid.

The Mantle in question is def a clubhouse. The 2 exemplars from 56 & 61 look fantastic! (Although I currently own them both so may be showing bias )
