It is time for another Brockelman Auction contest. The auction ends this upcoming Saturday. Your quest this time is to name 4 Pre-WW2 lots that I consigned in each of the ACC (American Card Catalog, for those not in the know) categories of T (Tobacco), R (Gum Cards), and E (Early Candy + Gum), and one lot guess in the W (Strip Cards) category. A sample guess of these lot #'s would look like this:

Lot #'s:

T: 678, 684, 692, 704
R: 575, 581, 591, 600
E: 621, 623, 635, 650
W: 640

Someone who guessed the lot #'s above would have ZERO correct, because these lot#'s do not exist in the auction. So my advice would be to guess better and smarter, and perhaps check out the auction, for crying out loud!

You will have up to TWO guesses, and no edits. This contest ends 6pm EST on Saturday February 2nd (the last day of the auction). The person who guesses the most (in case of tie, the person whose guess came earliest) wins any 2 cards of their choice on the bottom row of the scan in this post. If the winning guesser correctly names 11 lots or more, they will also receive the National Game Walter Johnson card.

Good Luck, and may the guessing begin.

Thanks for doing the contest again this time around.
1st guess

R: 82, 100

Hi John, I will let you edit this guess (your first guess) to point out to everyone that they should guess 4 lots in the T category, 4 in the R, 4 in the E, and 1 in the W.

Your second guess is exactly what each person's guess should look like.

Keep the guesses coming. I added a link to the auction in the first post, and by golly, here it is too.

Remember, no cost to participate, besides a little time and effort to check out an auction (I know we all hate to do that) and the possibility of free vintage cards. Win Win. Each person is allowed two guesses.

Changed title to make things more sensational! Exclamation points add pizzazz!

LOL, I don’t have a guess, but as a Brockelman consignor I’ll bump the thread. Still plenty of bargains.

I agree...I don't have any guesses, because I KNOW what I consigned. And plenty of my lots are still bargains as well.

Brian (my hints are typically not that helpful)

Thanks for the contest. It was fun to check out that auction. Honestly, I typically don't even look at that stuff since my collection is generally inexpensive, low quality stuff and I'd always assumed the auctions were mostly more expensive unobtainable stuff for me. I'll have to watch more of them. I'd kill to add that Walter Johnson. Hopefully I did the contest right.

Hopefully people like yourself will get to know Brockelman Auctions a little better...it is an auction that has a full range of items, and not just investor level material.

As a reminder to all, you can guess twice...so Woundedduck and others who have only guessed once, come up with another group of lot numbers!

So far about half the guesses have about half correct or more, and only one guess has one correct or less, so still possible to top them all.

Ends tonight at 6pm EST. Get your TWO guesses in by then, and good luck!
