The PSA pop report for the Topps 1971 Boots Day "lights behind the ear" card is more prevalent than the "no lights behind the ear", but on the 1971 OPC Boots Day card the "lights behind the ear" variant is way less prevalent than the "no lights behind the ear" - pop is 6. Any comments?

There are no variations on the 1971 O-Pee-Chee Boots Day card, they are all the light behind the ear version. It is an error on the part of PSA.

This type of "variation supplementation" also occurs with other cards in the OPC sets. The one that immediately comes to mind is having 1967 #128 Ed Spiezio listed as "Lettering All There," which implies the OPC master set also includes a card with part of his name missing, which it does not. There is no Canadian version of that coveted error card.
