I am confused at this grading. Could someone please help explain what I'm not seeing?

Buy the card, not the grade. That looks far better than a 1 to me.

Might have some spots of paperloss on the yellow background on the front. I agree though - looks much nicer than a 1 from the scans.

There's a wrinkle/crease in top right front corner and maybe a pinhole bottom right front corner. still presents better than a 1...

My guess is lot of wrinkles you can’t really see on a scan. Bottom right appears to have several.

I can only see the top right corner crease but even with other
wrinkles that's a harsh grade unless there is a pin hole (I can't
see that either).

After looking at a larger scan it does look like
there might be a pin hole in the lower right corner.

I think Purple Label will cert it

I count at least 3 creases, some paper loss, and an indentation. But, great eye appeal and certainly a 1.5 at worst.

I think there's a pinhole in the crease on the top right. But maybe that's just me. Used to be an automatic PSA 1 for a pinhole, but some recent ones have been given 2s.

I agree with John. Pinhole in upper right corner, right on the borderline. Also visible on reverse. Nice card still.

It's probably a pinhole or some kind of residue on the back. When I put together the Cracker Jack sets, I had a CLEAN Joe Jackson that had a spot of rubber cement on the back, and PSA defaulted it to a 1. I would think that with the amount of qualifiers that they have, they could come up with a qualifier for that.

Scans like this are the best illustration for why TPG is so necessary in the internet age — to emphasize the technical grade is not commensurate with the visual appeal.

You don’t need a grade on the Dave Brain above, where the damage is obvious.
