I don't get it. Aside from the useless pictures, what's the issue?

It's a scam... maybe a fake PSA holder... the pic of the back is a completely different card, it's an older PSA label than the front picture...

100% Feedback, yes...but I never deal with someone with as few (45) feedbacks as he does...certainly not for a 'big dollar' card.

There's enough clearly legit cards out there that anyone with half a brain should be able to avoid listings like the one the OP mentions.

...of course, if you do only have half a brain...go for it...P.T. Barnum

For those who have read Conrad's "Heart of Darkness", perhaps the seller's user name, Col. Kurtz, might have been a small clue all was not kosher with this offering

You might also notice on the front picture appears that something was whited out on the flip...

So you "bought it"? Why else would he ask you for PayPal gift?

I certainly don't claim to know more than the other members on here. But the card looks legit to me. The flip checks out and there's even pictures of the card from a previous Heritage auction. His previous, positive feedback all seem to be vintage card related as well. I admit, the Paypal gift thing is a little wonky. But, I'm not convinced this is a scam.

Flip aligns differently in the Heritage one, no? And different back holder.

Unquestionably a fake card as it's in a fake holder.

I hope no one on this board has bought any of this crap. The Lou he just sold is obviously fake.

As it is misrepresentation and fraud for thousands, it may actually draw police interest. I would give them a call.

It's a shame ebay has no meaningful fraud reporting system.

Gut instinct immediately said no. If you have been doing this long enough, its almost never wrong. The picture, lack of feedback, unknown seller, & even the description didn't feel right.

Lately it seems police are rarely interested in our hobby on many occasions. It certainly doesn't hurt to call though. And your local PD is the best place to start as they are the ones to protect you first, from what I have been told.

Didn't you have an ebay contact who was supposedly going to ramp up scrutiny of fraud?

Yes, but I haven't heard from him in a while. With ebay it seems their initiatives don't always keep going. They don't make money stopping fraud, as one authority once told me, and it's true.
