Was wondering how much rarer T213 is versus a t206 Cobb Ted portrait. Let's say a type II I've noticed there's three types. Would a graded 3 and both types bring about the same money or would the t213 bring in more because I sure see a lot less of them. I also think it's pretty cool to see New Orleans on the back. Any thoughts would be great because I wouldn't mind picking up a few t213 to add to my collection of t206

I've always understood that all three types of T213s are more rare than T206. Type I and III being much more rare than II but even the Type IIs are considerably more rare than T206 in general. There just aren't as many collectors of T213s to fuel the demand side of the prices.

Like Andy said, the T213s are much harder to come by, but less demand.

If I had to guesstimate, a type II will have a small premium (10%?) over a T206. Type III might be 2x a T206, and type I will maybe be 3-5x the price of a T206?

I'll never have the dough to own a type I or III, so I'll have to enjoy the II ...

Nice looking Type II Cobb.

Here's my 1910 COUPON....and, as you noted these can go for considerably more than a regular T206 red Cobb.
There is less than a dozen of these cards that have been graded.

i agree...type I/III cobbs are like lennox/uzit values whereas a few years ago type II red cobbs could be had for less than t206's...now the opposite is rightfully so.

You asked about the rarity of the Coupons compared to the T206's. I did a quick check of the SGC website.

There are 8 Type 1 Coupon Cobbs that have been graded, with only 1 that is VG or better.

Type 2 has 76 Cobbs, with only 9 that are VG or better.

Only 1 Type 3 is graded, which is a "1".

Total of 85 Coupons

I looked only at T206 Piedmonts, and SGC has 372 of the Piedmont Cobb's, with 136 that are VG or better.

So, looking at my very limited and quick research, keeping in mind that I only looked at Piedmont T206's, the Piedmont Cobbs are over 4 times as plentiful as the Coupon Cobb's, and the Coupons are generally in much poorer condition than the Piedmont's. So, I would guess that if you add Sweet Cap backs, Polar Bear backs, etc, the total T206 Cobb backs could be 10-15 times as plentiful as the Coupon Cobbs.

I am too busy (lazy) to delve into all of the T206 back comparisons at this time.

Good luck! Rick

Nice card (and the others shown are fine specimens too!!). Probably on the list of cards to have again :).

According to the PSA pop reports there are 1601 Cobb red ports for T206. 26 for T213-2, 6 for T213-3 and 4 for T213-1.
