Been seeing some crazy prices lately (see eBay link below)... one off's or do you guys think they're becoming more popular recently. Thankfully I have most of the set completed but still have a few I need to pick up.

It does appear that there has been an uptick in T205 prices. Be interesting to see if it continues to build.

The SP, ML and rarer backs have always done pretty well.
I would expect those to rise as they harder to find and are on far more collector’s wantlist accordingly.

The commons don’t seem to be on an upswing to me, unless in higher grade of course.

It’s logical to me that T205 will have its day in the sun. It’s got everything the T206 has and more. Some folks say...much more.

(Well, it doesn’t have the fine artwork like Spike Shannon or Billy Purtell so I stand corrected)

I believe that the Doc Adkins card is being actively hoarded, so its prices shouldn’t be seen as typical right now for T205s overall.

That said, I don’t think I’ve seen much upswing in commons, _except_ maybe for a few slightly scarcer commons like Daubert and Jacklitsch, in VG or better. That’s my subjective take, with no stats behind it.

Brian --

That Billy Purtell card freaks me out (T206, not in T205). It's like the doll in a Stephen King movie. I always have that card turned over, just in case I wake up and his crazy head is looking at me...

Take Care,
Geno

That is funny. I am sure T205s will taper off after I finish the set I am doing. Isn't that the way it works? (not my T206)

Good point. Ironically, I've seen quite a few Wilhelms go at fairly prices lately. Prices for some of the other SPs seem to be picking up though.

I would love to get into T205 as T206 has sparked a big interest in pre war cards for me but the chipping and other defects associated with the gold boarders is a killer. Basically a low grade T206 has more eye appeal than a low grade T205.
