Just my two cents, but based on the background it looks like a promo for a movie.

From the shine, it looks more like a photo with a backer paper. Like someone created a late 50's cabinet card.

Looks like an 18-year-old high school senior in a studio pose --- so what are the names of the local area high schools' sports teams... The Rutland Irons etc. etc. ? Just a thought.....
