I don't see any mention of these, and was wondering if anyone else collects them? I have all the matching numbered ones plus a few series after, but stopped ordering them sometime in the 90's. I think this is a real nice set to have autographed. Was thinking about picking up the rest, but also want to work on the 1972 topps set I started as a kid. Anyway, does anyone else like these?

While I don't own any of the Goal Line Art cards, I think they're remarkably beautiful, well-done creations. With the popularity of autographs, combined with the quality depictions of the given players, it's a win-win-win combination, bro. Those Goal Line Art beauties seem to be the gridiron equivalent of the baseball Perez-Steele Great Moments cards, which are sensational.

As for the '72 Topps football, all I can say is the late, crafty dealer Larry Fritish purchased all the leftover cases of second series '72 Topps Football, which did not sell well, and cornered the market with them. Their family probably still has cases of them at their Wisconsin location. However, Larry always wanted a steep price for them. Still, now that Larry, and his son Jeff, have passed away, perhaps the Fritsch is more open to negotiating with customers. Not that you'd want to buy a whole case, but some of what they have available.

Wishing you well, bro. ---Brian Powell

The Goal Line Art cards are beautiful - I used to buy them and send them to the players through the HOF in the early to mid nineties - many of the players were willing signers when sent with a nice polite note (a few charged a nominal fee - I think maybe Sammy Baugh and Don Hutson charged like $5 or something.) Some would include an extra signed card or post card or a nice note. Most of the players also did a very nice job signing them neatly and legibly. If I recall correctly, I think right around 2000 or 2001 the HOF stopped forwarding mail, and fewer and fewer players were signing through the mail. And of course many of the newer, modern players who are elected are charging very high fees to sign at shows, so trying to keep up with the set would be fairly costly. I still pull them out from time to time - always make me smile!

A beautiful set and a great complimentary set to the Perez-Steele baseball PCs. I have a set a dozens of signed GLA cards.

I can't believe I haven't spent more time looking at this set! I have one card that a fellow collector sent me recently and they are absolutely beautiful. I particularly love the images of the players from the 1920s-30s in these sets.

Do you all see many of these at card shows? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but don't usually see them ... or maybe I just haven't been looking!

This is a thread that needs pictures! Come'on guys!

Here's the one I mentioned above. Image appears to be based upon the Fats Henry image I posted to the Ode to Pre-War Football thread recently. Noticed how Goal Line Art changed his uniform from the one he wore at Washington & Jefferson to one that looks like when he was with the Canton Bulldogs. Also added a helmet and fixed the rip in his pants!

Sorry Jeff I am photo inept. I will pass along that Bob Lilly will sign his card for a $5.00 donation he gives to a local charity. Also Billy Shaw gladly signs his and almost always returns any money sent to him. He says he is honored to be remembered.

Found my stacks of doubles - I keep my set in binders, but the 4x6 holders are perfect size for these, and make them fun to flip through. I pulled out a few that I like - I also really enjoy the old time players with the leather helmets! Just a great looking set!

Impressive! Would love to pick up some of your doubles if you are looking to trade/sell any of them.

I have a handful of them that are signed...some I didn't even remember getting until I remembered some of the shows they used to have here in Cali. Anyway, here's the only one I have handy.
