Good Evening Net community,

Bought this today on a whim-

I know it’s old (not aged) and def not a reproduction item...but not sure exactly what it is. I know pins but this has me stumped.

If anyone has any ideas...I would appreaciate any help.

The specific artwork seems familiar, maybe off a yearbook cover or something. I know there are paintings of the same scene.

My initial thought is remembering the bottom makers that some kids used to have.

That's "kids" with an "S" from the 70's when a button maker was considered cool or fun, not "kidz" with a "Z" after the video games came along and turned sitting on a couch staring at a tv into cool or fun.

It’s def late 40’s or early 50’s based off the clasp... that much I know.

Image from a 1948 game. Which doesn't tell too much.

It is a more modern reproduction. I have seen it before. Dont go by the clasp as that clasp can be popped out of another pin and put in. Enjoy it if you dont have much into it...

Thank you to all for your thoughts and opinions. I’m still beyond stumped...so I am going to send it in for a review to test the covering of the pin. Mylar Vs. Celluloid. That’s the only real tell all to unravel the mystery.

Almost every pin out there that I have seen depicts a player's face. The choice of image on this one in itself suggests to me that it is a reproduction. The uneven wear between the front and the back further confirms that hunch. If it were mine, I wouldn't spend any additional money testing it.
