Im searching T206 on ebay seeing a lot of psa questionable authenticity with a question mark on the sticker ... how often are these real/genuine and why is PSA not sure one way or another?
Thanks in advance

They are NEVER real. It's their genteel way of saying counterfeit. A lot of us HATE the ambiguity of "Questionable Authenticity" being put on stickers for clearly counterfeit cards and then somehow being used as a smoke screen to sell the cards as possibly real.

? AUTH is PSA's polite way of saying the card is fake. It is shorthand for "QUESTIONABLE AUTHENTICITY" which is wayyyyyyyyy too many characters for the line. PSA thought people would be smart enough to figure out the shorthand.

It's a legal CYA in the minuscule but non-zero chance a fake is actually original.

Wow interesting. So PSA never puts out a counterfeit or not genuine sticker they just always say questionable? Seems strange I always thought it meant MAYBE
