I would estimate $1-$2k (I am not valuing the other signatures, since I can't recognize them, but they may have additional value). Since the Autograph is not attached to his book and smeared, I would guestimate around $1,500. More if the other autographs are ballplayers.

I do not believe the other signatures are ballplayers, but they are directors / stockholders in the AG Spalding and Bros company. This signature is from a page in a Spalding corporation Minutes Book. If his signature didn't have any blemishes and was in a 9/10 condition, would it be valued at more ? Thanks again

The smear hurts. In the past few years I have seen the signed books go from 1500 to 2000. I would say a smeared cut is less unless the other signatures have value

The other signatures shown are:
William Brown
L A Wolff
F W Gerould
B H Eling

I couldn't find much information on these gentlemen.

I have seen a reference to William Brown being a brother in law and banker, involved very early in the company. But it is just in my notes without a cite.

I would guess less than a thousand, because of the smear.

William Brown is William Thayer Brown, one of 3 original partners and a brother in law.
His son, also William T Brown, also worked for the company.
Google William T Brown, and you will find a nice article on changes to the company in the 1930’s that talks about William Thayer Brown.

I should I add I am one of those odd collectors who care more about what the signature is on more than the signature itself. If this is an extremely important document that would add to the value for me, at least.

The opposite side of this page details Spalding replacing $15,000 worth of supplies, equipment, etc... that was lost in the San Francisco fire, in exchange for the equivalent In company stock.

I used to own 2 different deeds each signed by spalding and wife. Someone with a knife cut through the signatures leaving them whole put virtually in 2 pieces connected on other parts of the deed. I was able to have Jim Stinson sell them for I believe $1500 each when I upgraded to a signed book. I have paid about $1100 each for the deeds through Heritage maybe 10-15 years ago

I saw that this A G Spalding document sold for over $4,000 in 2008. What would this be worth today ? Or what would one in better condition be worth ? Thanks! And sorry for all the questions but I appreciate all the responses!

I am thinking that the Spalding ledger find was after 2008, so that would have been the price before the market was slammed with dozens of his signature on similar documents.

Ledger find was 2012/2013.
