View Full Version : ID help on a couple of signed balls please

First pic looks like Craig Monroe at top and definitely Carlos Pena at bottom. That would make this ball from 2001. It may be a Spring Training ball as the # in the signature I believe is Monroe's looks like 62, and he never wore that # in the Majors. The bottom signature looks like Brett Laxton, who was a pitcher in the Royals organization in '01. Laxton spent that whole season in Triple-A, which makes it more likely to be from ST of that year. Both teams were training in Florida in 2001 and Laxton would have likely been in Big League Camp as a non-roster invitee.

Probably spot on. The Royals and Rangers shared a spring training complex briefly years ago. On one of my finest spring training outings I managed to snag George Brett on the Royals side and A-Rod on the Rangers side.
