Don't know much about Wide Pens, but this Vosmik portrait is not on the Type 1 Checklist, and have only found it as a Type 3 (without a border). Assume it is a Type 2 or 4?

Does anyone have a link to Checklists for the 5 types?

Thanks.

Looks like a type 2.

Tim Newcomb, a board member, wrote a comprehensive review of the Wide Pen series in two consecutive Old Cardboard issues a number of years ago. If you like the Wide Pen series, I highly recommend you try and get those issues.

I think its an 1936 Goudey R322 (http://www.oldcardboard.com/r/r322/r322gal.asp), not 1936 Goudey Wide Pen R314. Check out the link, I could be wrong. Nice card!

Thanks for the replies.

Definitely not an R322 (1936 Goudey). Those cards are square, with a game text on the back. This is blank, save for the name stamp of a former owner.

Will look for the Old Cardboard piece. Surprised that I couldn't find a similar image online.

Type 5 is only Canadian players, I believe. Don't have a checklist handy but since Type 4s have creamy borders, I'm guessing yours is a 2. Those have white borders and that's what it looks like from your scan.

Definitely not the creamy borders - must be Type 2, though I have only seen the "Batting" and "Kneeling" versions from that series. Not sure why Joe rated three separate poses in a 25 card series.

Appreciate the clarification.

Doh! I see you what you mean now on R314 v R322. Strange, Old Cardboard doesn't list Vosmik on their R314 checklist, but I think that checklist is only for R314 Type 1. PSA has a master checklist that has the 3 variations for Vosmik (portrait/kneeling/batting) but doesn't break them out by types.

Seems like a master R314 checklist broken down by type would be beneficial.

No problem. Just had a chance to check my Standard Catalog and, yes, it is Type 2. Vosmik is listed as having a portrait there.
