Agreed. Over-rated, over-valued and exceedingly over-paid. Oh, to be a mediocre baseball player today. Best thing that has happened to the Dogjuhs in ages. :D

Us Astros fans loved him in the World Series.

Thank Yu!

I'd be surprised if that works out. His trajectory definitely seems in the wrong direction.

Not sure why he said his goal is to beat the Dodgers.

He already did that last year

As a Clardinals fan I hope you are all correct, but I think at least for next year he will be a solid performer in their rotation. I just hope Cardinals do not panic into trying to sign Arrieta to any long term contract. The Cubs obviously made the call that they were better off with Darvish in any multiple year deal. That may haunt them later, but I think will make them better for next year

As a long time Cub fan, I have my doubts.

Should they have signed a “whirling dervish” instead of a ”twirling Darvish”?

Time will tell.

And no puns on Yu? Yu disappoint.

I live between Chicago and Milwaukee and the news in both cities reported the Cubs signed Darvish to keep the Brewers from doing so. For one thing, what the Cubs paid Darvish would have bankrupted the Brewers, and Darvish is no more the solution to the Brewers pitching needs than he is the Cubs. I think the post that suggested Darvish might be the solution for the Cubs next year is probably right. Six years from now when that contract is nearing its end...not so much. The Brewers were much better last season than anyone anticipated and Darvish may have made them better next season (remember C.C. Sebathia?) but they can't afford to be saddled with the salary when he starts to break down. This is what makes baseball the greatest game. The hot stove league can't be beat.
