Hey T206 guys....check this out......

Another day, another PSA "screw up"....this time a double boo-boo !

The back of this Lefty Leifield (pitching) card is actually a Brown HINDU.

Also, the real "no-no", besides PSA wrongly identifying this card as the "Batting" pose,
is the fact that Leifield (batting) was NEVER PRINTED with the Red HINDU back (this is
an impossible front/back combo).

Hi Tim

An occasional single screw-up by PSA is understandable, given the 1000's of cards they grade each day.

But, multiple "boo-boos" on one card is a little too much.

Tim, will we see you at the March Philly Show ?

In PSA's defense, doesn't the SUBMITTER chose what to call the card? I realize it is PSA's job to catch this sort of thing, but the submitter is more than likely the one who called the card that.

Interesting. So if I call my Heinie Wagner a Honus Wagner, I can at least increase the population by one? :D

I would pick a card a little less high profile. Like one of the 8,376,982,576 other ones.

PSA will correct it for free if you email them with the subject MECHANICAL ERROR and they'll pay shipping both ways. I've probably sent back 15 cards for mechanical errors in the four years I've been grading. Some were OPCs labeled Topps, some were wrong variants, some were wrong card name, etc. Some were N43s that were labeled N28s.

This card reminds me of Tommy John pitching for the Yankees in the 80's. The ball was hit to the box and he made 3 errors on the play.

I remember that play: 1- He dropped a ground ball
2- he then threw it down the rightfield line
3- the RF threw home to try for the runner. John cut the ball off and threw wildly to the plate, allowing the batter (who had gone to third) to score. A classic "Little League" home run.

Mechanical error? What do they use robots now? Why not just call it what it is, human error?

Data entry errors happen at all 3 of the major companies. heck i once saw a 1956 tops warren spahn in a 1996 tops chrome allen Iverson holder. Stuff like this doesn't get me all worked up because like i said it is a data entry error. if you saw how the systems are set up its easy to click on the wrong one sometimes. Hell i know i made some mistakes on data entry, and i know a lot. it wasn't through ignorance usually but simple error.

"she stopped the mechanical brushing of her hair"

I don't know Leon...I guess it fits.....the workers at PSA are taking for granted that the person submitting the card is actually submitting what they claim to be submitting. They AUTOMATICALLY assumed the card submitted was the card claimed. But yes, you are right...mechanical error...human error....same thing. People (multiple) screwed up.

It is a human error any way you slice it. All companies (by virtue of people) and people make them.

Dang, Ted, I was there in December but you were nowhere to be found! I don’t think I’ll make it for March, but there’s always the National.

Ps. Go Iggles!

Hi Tim

We had a family gathering in December; therefore, I skipped the Show.

Well, I hope to see you in Cleveland this Summer.

Take care,

Go Eagles,

It's not in their database but whoever owns it might have had it corrected.

Not necessarily true I think many of them are an error on PSA's end
when they do the label. I submitted this card and it was correct
on the submission form.

307324
307326

and there's another one with the same error on ebay that was probably
a labeling error too.

I reported it to them. But the new owner probably sent it back in for mech error reholder.
