On that particular set, that price is nuts.

It really all depends on the quality of the set though.

I wouldn't let mine go for that, I have way more invested than that.

A 1973 complete set described as EX with the Schmidt as SGC 86 went for nearly $1K with the juice...

IMO, set is worth about $200 Max. This has all the markings of an NESC set that's been cherry picked and left with sloppy seconds. You can probably get every card in PSA 7 for a little north of that price.

It wasn't over described-had to be 2 interested parties to get the sets to those levels

Stumped on this one. I thought maybe it had a high-end Brett or Eckersley, but not so. Looks like the key cards are psa 6ish. Unless there's something I don't see, it looks like someone got carried away. Of course I've never way overpaid for something I wanted.
