Just grabbed this Jimmy Archer P2 Pin (Small Letters) off of eBay.

I have not posted a pickup in a long time. Here is the start of my 2018!! An N172 Ralph Spud Johnson to complete my single pose Columbus set. I will post the whole thing in the coming days. Thanks to all the OJ collectors that have helped along the way and to the many phone calls and emails letting me know it was up for auction. As well as the seller that worked with me to make this happen.

Great cards Pete.

I decided that in 2018, I would branch out some from T206, but stay with items older than the great depression. So, my first 2018 pick ups are this E90-1 Speaker and this E101 Cy Young

Been awhile since I got t post in this thread...feels good.

I got my first card today of 2018 and the second time I have owned this exact example which was difficult to replace. I HAD to trade it for something else and it found its way back to me and showed up today. 1907 FP Burke Detroit PC, one of Cobb's earlier images and I love the emblem in the background. It comes in both black and blue and I far prefer the tough black variation. Also, its unused with just a simple corner crease as it returns in to my top 10 favorite cards.

I miss that E101 Young. It was in my collection over 10 years ago and I kick myself for parting with it back then. I'm glad someone ended up with it that appreciates it. Believe it or not, that was the very first vintage card I ever owned.

Picked up this letter signed by former NL President John Heydler. In it he talks about the NL proposing the DH.

“At one of our final League meetings held at the old Waldorf — it must’ve been 8 to 10 years ago — the League passed unanimously a recommendation to the Rules Committee, allowing a pinch hitter for the pitcher.”

The story behind the NL's ill-fated proposal can be found by clicking here (http://www.cooperstownexpert.com/2018/01/nl-owners-supported-designated-hitter-1928/).

The CooperstownExpert.com site has autographs of all but three HoFers who debuted in the Major Leagues since 1900. Hope you enjoy it.

Those are some cool postcards, Glen.
That's Red Sox mainstay Hal Janvrin in the front row of the Camp Devens card. SABR bio confirms it: http://sabr.org/bioproj/person/80f3a62e BBRef shows a minor league team for Streator for the years 1912-1915 but a little googling yielded the info that the Reds were a popular town ball squad dating back to the 1890s and before. I cobbled together some excerpts from a city history, chronology a bit unclear, that gives a glimpse of their story. That's a fine looking postcard, a classical assemblage of ballplayers.

Always thought this was one of the coolest backs out there. Now I own one. Thanks Ed.

My Red Sun Molesworth is one of my favorites. So much so that I purchased two pugilists to have more!

Not a new pick up, just newly slabbed. i don't usually like oversized items slabbed but pretty happy with how this looks.

So I searched out to upgrade this card and a very gracious and well versed member responded and it was sitting in the mail today. My trading partner informed me how crystal clear the image was nd now that its in hand...I didn't think these old CdVs could be this clear. I love the card, great trade a great transaction. I also have always dug the ad back and its even cooler n hand.

Nice pick ups guys. Cobby's look as popular as ever. That Gehrig PC is way cool. Love that color.

Picked up this sharp T202 on eBay recently and it arrived today.
Now have 8 of the 10 Chief Meyers T202s.

Thanks to the help of a couple of board members, I was able to complete 1/2 of the Cubs cards from the 1941 Goudey set for my collection. Now just the 4 Warstler SP cards to go!

I got this pc796 from an awesome board member. I can only post pics in collage, so here it is next to its sister card, the Novelty Cutlery.
