Hello. I'm working on a nonfiction book about what occurred at Mastro Auctions. As I conduct my research I'm having difficulty determining the size (in terms of total dollars and total number of participants) of the VINTAGE baseball memorabilia market (cards, photos, balls, uniforms). Does anybody have any idea just how big this market is? Have any studies been done by outside research companies? I need the info for my book proposal. Literary agents want solid research, not broad generalities.
Thanks for any leads or help you can provide me with.
Why the book? I do believe that a fair and complete account about what happened at this auction house be produced. I don't want this to EVER happen again.
Thanks for any leads or help you can provide and Happy Holidays!

You may want to contact some of the current large auction houses. They may be able to give you some figures that would be of help. Start with REA auctions and Heritage I would think.

Good advice. Thank you. I have already discussed with Chris Ivy at Heritage. Will reach out to REA next. Take care.
