I'm pretty much a Ruth collector and like to pick up weird/rare items when and if they appear at a decent price. So I picked this up the other day and the only thing I could find was a 3 Tom Mix Coins that is the same Lucky Pocket Piece. Hake sold one and had it labeled as c.1933.

Now I don't know anything about Hake so I don't know how reputable they are so it's why I'm asking here.

Has anyone seen one of these before or have any info. They were distributed the Exhibit Supply Company and made by Whitehead and Hoag. It's bronze and the size of a half dollar. I do know too these lucky type coins were big in the late 20's-early 30's based off some research. But thats all I have.

Any additional info would be great. Thanks in advance.

Haven't seen one in 5 years of obsessively checking eBay for Ruth and Gehrig items. Cool piece.

I used my 5 year ebay rule all the time. If I haven't seen one in 5 years. . . . . Buy it.

Yeah I sort of guy buy if it's old, Ruth and under $300 it's worth a flier.

Giving it a friendly bump but I'm starting to assume this is one of the "too rare" for it's own good and information is scarce at best.

Tried to find anything on Exhibits coins generally and drew a complete blank.

Cool piece. I've never seen one.

Would be great to find some old advertisement from Exhibits Supply Co. mentioning them. Wish I had some info to add.

THanks for the info Dan. None really say dates except the one that says 1930s. You would think since it’s an exhibit item there would be more info. Either way I’ll keep mine close so I can hopefully win the lotto now. Lol

ESC also made a similar coin featuring Tom Mix who died in 1940 so I would be comfortable saying that the Ruth coin is almost certainly 1930s and possibly even 1920s.

Hard to believe any kid took a token over a noisy nose blower.

Yep, I would say that pinpoints them right to 31-32.
