View Full Version : Why are E104-1 overprints not D359's?

I was checking out some D359 Rochester cards and the thought crossed my mind. Why were these not cataloged as blank backed D359's? Both series have A's players with World Series champions 1910 stamped on the from. Just curious. Thanks in advance.

I think because what makes Rochester Baking cards is the Rochester Baking back......and not all Nadjas have World Champions on front.....I think that is right............Jerry

Burdick referred to D359 as they were similar (18) to T208 Cullivan's. Maybe it had to do with the number in the set? Good question. He only mentioned E104 were found with Nadja Play Ball backs or blank backs but didn't say why.

Thanks for the responses guys. Personally, I think a good argument could be made that E104-1 overprints could be a 1911 issue as well since they show the A's as 1910 champs. Although it is possible they were issued late 1910. Interesting. Thanks again for your input.

Edited to add - Nice cards Jerry. Thanks for sharing.
